Plasthall 297 is a plasticizer designed to give PVC film, sheet, and coatings extreme low-temperature flexibility.

The unique and high quality raw materials used for Plasthall 297, and the consistent quality delivered by its manufacturing process, minimizes the problems frequently encountered in film and sheet processing. Poor printing behavior, plate-out and weak ink adhesions are examples of troubles minimized or eliminated with Plasthall 297 as the plasticizer.

Plasthall 297 is recommended for end products that will be subject to extremely low temperatures. Coated fabrics or sheeting for rainwear; film for luggage and accessories and coated industrial fabrics exposed to refrigeration are among the applications in which formulations of Plasthall 297 merit evaluation. It also offers advantages relating to printability, it is an excellent plasticizer for coatings or stock used for bookbinding.

In PVC plastisols, the low viscosity and good viscosity stability imparted by Plasthall 297 allows plastisols to be formulated well in advance of use. Even blended with other higher solvating plasticizers, the viscosity build-up of the plastisol formulation is greatly reduced.

Plasthall 297 is used in rubber formulations to improve the low temperature flexibility in nitrile rubber, the low temperature flexibility improvement is as pronounced as with DOA, but with less effect on the rubber’s heat aging performance because of the lower volatility of Plasthall 297.
