Higher performance engines

With cars becoming more fuel efficient, automakers are trying to extract as much horsepower as possible out of smaller, (turbocharged) engines while increasing their longevity. These engines run hotter, and the range of the service temperature requirements in cold climates then becomes even wider, often from -50°C to 150°C.

As a result, specialized elastomers and plasticizers are used to keep these critical parts performing over a long period of time. This trend of higher performance, higher quality and longer usable service life is likely to continue. This trend puts increasing demands on the polymers and modifiers. Hallstar continues to monitor this situation and work with polymer producers to ensure our plasticizers have the compatibility and performance required for current and future critical applications.
